M&M : Matter and Meaning

The exhibition "Matter and Meaning" by DaeKwan Kim, Youngjoo Kim, and Gyu Kim presents the artistic language that the three artists have newly interpreted the materials from their own perspectives and created in a new form. It tells the story of new meanings and forms of materials found through works using glass, wood, and canvas. What they have in common is that the base form of the work is produced through the processing of raw materials without using ready-made materials as they are, which implicitly captures the aesthetic value and meaning of the materials discovered by the artists. It is intended to provide new visual experiences to visitors through research on their materials and forms.
앤 갤러리는 김대관, 김규, 김영주의 전시 ‘Matter and Meaning ‘을 개최한다. 이번 전시는 세 작가가 그들만의 관점으로 재료를 새롭게 해석하고 형태로 만들어낸 예술적 언어를 선보인다. 유리, 나무, 캔버스를 사용한 작품을 통해 발견되는 재료들의 새로운 의미와 형태에 대한 이야기를 담아낸다. 그들의 공통된 점은 작품의 기반이 되는 형태를 기성 재료를 그대로 사용하지 않고 원재료의 가공을 통해 제작해낸다는 것인데, 이를 통해 작가들이 발견한 물질의 심미적 가치와 의미를 함축적으로 담아낸다. 그들의 재료와 형태에 대한 탐구를 통한 작품으로 관람객들에게 새로운 시각적 경험을 제공하고자 한다.
